The production project proposal form has five sections which are described below.

The applicant information section is pre-filled from the user information recorded CSCS. We will use your email address given here to communicate with you. Please contact projectoffice(at)cscs.ch if you want us to use another email address, or if any other data appearing in this section are not correct.

Some applicants belong to several institutions, for example to ETHZ as well as PSI. Please choose from the drop-down menu on behalf of which institution you submit the proposal. If the correct institution is not listed, please contact projectoffice@cscs.ch.

Please give the title of your project and its intended duration, which you can choose from the provided drop down list. Please note that all projects longer than one year will be submitted to an annual technical review.

Choose a scientific field. If none of the predefined scientific fields applies, choose "Other" and provide your scientific field in the entry field that appears.

The “Resource request” section is for one year. You must specify the requested CPU time on the XT5 (the only machine available for production projects). The request for Data Analysis System is optional and depends on whether you need pre- and post-processing facilities. You must also specify the project disk space you require. This data will be redundantly stored to minimize the risk of data loss. Note that there is a default allocation of disk space; change this number as required for your project. Please also indicate whether you plan to make your data publicly available on the CSCS archive at the end of your project.

The “Project Description Sections” list the mandatory sections your proposal must contain. If your proposal lacks any of the mandatory sections it cannot be considered

There are also optional sections. Please check the appropriate boxes if those sections are included in your proposal.

The “Attachments” section lists the documents that must be included with your submission:

2. Curriculum Vitae
3. List of publications

Please double-check that you have attached these required documents and tick the corresponding boxes. Remember that all attachments must be in pdf format.
