Massimo Benini: Attending SLURM training 2015

For CSCS training is crucial for both employee and organization development and success. Therefore, support is provided for training and continuing education activities which are undertaken in conjunction with work or which help enhance employability. We met Massimo Benini, software engineer at CSCS since 2012, who told us about his last experience at the SLURM training 2015 in Barcelona, Spain.

"I and other CSCS colleagues attended the "SLURM training 2015" organised by HCPNow!, IQTC-UB and ThinkParQ. This 2-days training was part of the HPC Knowledge Meeting 2015, aimed to share expertise and strategies in High Performance Computing, High Performance Data Analysis & Clustering.

The conference was held at the University of Barcelona from 5th to 6th February, 2015. The training course consisted in 2 days: the first one was mainly dedicated for beginners-intermediate skilled SLURM system administrator and the second day for intermediate-advance. I had the chance to contribute with reviewing the materials presented and the Hands On Sessions proposed regarding the Slurm Training Session.

It was a great experience because I had the chance to learn more and to share expertise and strategies of the most popular Batch Queue System in HPC with other professionals like me". - by Massimo Benini, CSCS
