National Supercomputing Service

Since 1991, CSCS provides compute and storage facilities for researchers in HPC-based sciences. Scientists at all academic institutions located in Switzerland can apply for our computational resources in different allocation schemes. Since May 2010 Production Proposals can be submitted at any time, however we have two allocation periods, that is April 1st and October 1st, the deadlines to be considered for these two periods are posted well in advance here.  

Our center is focused on capability computing problems, which since the beginning of the millennium equates to massively-parallel computing (MPP) in order to do large experiments for tightly-coupled problems. CSCS is specialized on deploying early technologies, stabilising them quickly for providing a rock-solid service.
