The Cray XE6 system consists of 3 cabinets divided in two systems logically independent: Albis, dedicated to production runs (opr) and Monte Lema, meant for research and development (R&D).
Named after Albis in Canton Zurich, Switzerland, a chain of hills stretching for about 19 km and after Monte Lema, a mountain of the Lugano Prealps at the border between Italy and Switzerland with an elevation of 1621m.
Albis: 1 cabinet , 18 blades, 72 nodes, 144 sockets, 1728 cores;
Lema: 2 cabinets, 42 blades, 168 nodes, 336 sockets, 4032 cores.
