The CSCS LCG cluster is a dedicated resource for the Swiss Institute of Particle Physics (CHIPP), manily to analyze data coming from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments at CERN. CSCS operates the Swiss Tier2 in the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) for CHIPP and provides support to the whole CHIPP community. It is also part of the infrastructure of the European Grid Initiative (EGI).

As of September 2014, the Grid cluster comprises: 2112 Intel Xeon E5-2670 (SandyBridge) HyperThreading cores at 2.6 GHz, with 2 GB RAM per core and 960 Intel Xeon E5-2680 v2 (IvyBridge) HyperThreading cores at 2.8 GHz, with 3.2 GB RAM per core.
