Parallel I/O on Piz Daint

The Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) is pleased to announce the webinar Parallel I/O on Piz Daint, which will be held online on October 22, at 10:30 (CEST).

Webinar Description

This webinar introduces parallel I/O on the Piz Daint supercomputer and discusses best practices. After a general introduction to parallel I/O, we will focus on ADIOS2, a parallel I/O library that addresses shortcomings of commonly used I/O libraries for large scale computing. ADIOS2 is developed as part of the United States Department of Energy's Exascale Computing Project. We will outline how to achieve the following with ADIOS2:
1) accessing the file system in parallel;
2) selecting different file formats (including HDF5);
3) including on-the-fly lossy or lossless compression; and
4) staging simulation output for in-situ visualisation.
