RACKlette is a team of six students from ETH Zurich in Switzerland who have a rich and diverse mix of interests around High Performance Computing (HPC) that includes parallel programming, system administration and system's programming, algorithms and complexity analysis, as well as processor and memory architecture. Under the supervision of Prof. Torsten Hoefler of ETH Zurich and Hussein Harake of CSCS, the students spent recent months improving their skills in optimizing and tuning computations on all the different levels, from the physical hardware up to algorithmic performance optimizations, wherever possible.
CSCS served as one of the main sponsors of the team by supporting them in the different phases of their preparation, from the training of different skills to getting in contact with other potential sponsors, shipping the hardware to Frankfurt and giving general technical advice.
We congratulate all members of the RACKlette team for their excellent results in the ISC competition, and we wish them all the best for their upcoming participation in a similar competition during the SC19 conference.
