Scientists from the Universities of Zurich and Cambridge have refined their results from April 2020. At that time, they succeeded for the first time in creating a single computer-simulated model running on "Piz Daint“ supercomputer, that combines the processes involved in planet formation. The new study provides a possible explanation for the abundance of intermediate exoplanets - a long-standing mystery in astronomy. The new results have now been published in the journal Nature Astronomy. More information here >
